Why House church Foundations
As our church continues to grow both in House Churches and on Sundays, we've recognized the need for a dedicated space where newcomers who love and follow Jesus can learn to what it means to be the people of God on the mission of God by the power of God. We need a place where they can experience living at the intersection of Word and Prayer + Meal and Mission, as seen in Acts 2. We need an open space given for God’s word to speak, the Holy Spirit to direct, and the mission to guide who we are and what we do. House Church Foundations is that place. From here we are convinced we can see new House Churches started, existing House Churches strengthened, and more Houstonians naming Jesus as King, being baptized, and ultimately worshipping Him in all of life.
who we have in mind
Because we value facilitating movement through healthy multiplication, we must help our HC's grow from the harvest instead of primarily from a wave of newcomers. Every year, as we have grown, we have had to think differently about how we connect to our newcomers. We believe that by providing the right avenue for folks entering 7MR, newcomers will experience the DNA of what HC's are designed to be, which oftentimes requires a reshaping of what it means to be "the church". Existing HC's will have increased capacity to prioritize loving and inviting those that are near to them but far from God, while we believe House Church Foundations serves as the best next step for the existing believers in your life that are new to 7MR.
