Foundational Truths

  1. God created everything, including me!

  2. God is the King of everything, including me!

  3. God is good, and He loves everyone, including me!

  4. I am a sinner in need of a rescuer.

  5. Jesus came to rescue sinners.

  6. God sends the Holy Spirit to help us follow Jesus.

  7. God hears us when we pray.

  8. The Bible is God’s word.

  9. The Church is God’s family.

  10. Jesus will return to make all things new!

Our vision

Starting from a young age, kids have the capacity to learn so much - and we believe that the most important thing we can teach our kids is the truth of the gospel.

We also believe that parents are the most influencial people in their kids lives. Therefore, we want to equip parents with simple tools to bring the truth of the gospel into their homes. This is our goal with our “Foundational Truths.”

As we journey through the story of scripture this year, we will emphasize one of these truths each month. We want to invite our families to commend these to memory with us! Below are a few ideas for how you can use these in your homes.

  • What we are doing

    Each week, our volunteers pray the Foundational Truth for the week over our babies as they play. We also play music that relates to the truth and story.

    What you can do

    Spend time praying these truths over your little one while you rock them to sleep or change their diaper. Commit the verse each month to memory, and recite it over your baby.

  • What we are doing

    Each week, our toddlers will hear a story from The Beginner's Gospel Story Bible and engage in simple activities that reinforce the story details. We also sing songs that relate to the truth each month!

    What you can do

    Think about the times when your toddler is contained: in the car, in the highchair, in the stroller, or in the bath. Use these times to read the story of the week to them or sing songs together!

    As you go about your day, say the Foundational Truth as you are reminded of it. For example, when you see a cool tree outside, remind your toddler that God created everything!

  • What we are doing

    Each week, our preschoolers hear a story from The Beginner's Gospel Story Bible and engage in activities meant to reinforce story details. We also spend time worshiping together, singing songs that remind us of the foundational truth. We say the foundational truth together after every lesson.

    What you can do

    Ask your preschooler what they learned after worship on Sunday! Memorize the truth and the verse each month with them. You will be surprised how good this age can be at memorizing things!

    Think specifically about times when your preschooler is contained - like in the car or at a meal. Think about ways your family can incorporate the foundational truth into these times. Maybe it is singing together in the car, or reciting to truth together at dinner.

  • What we are doing

    Each week, our elementary students hear a lesson from The Biggest Story Bible and worship together with songs that reinforce the story. They also engage in two activities - one game and one craft or reflection activity meant to reinforce the truth for that week.

    What you can do

    Ask your child what they did in worship each week! Help them remember the foundational truth for the month and memorize the verse with them.

    Keep thinking about those built-in contained times. The car and meals are a great place for intentional conversation as a family!
