No More Gloom

Each December, we give away every dollar as we long for our city and world to be transformed by the birth of Jesus. This year, our Advent series was titled “No More Gloom” as we explored the different names attributed to the Messiah in Isaiah 9.  This Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace represents light breaking into thick darkness and changes everything that He touches. In connection with this series, we forged a new partnership with Compassion International. Seven Mile Road gave to sponsor 332 waiting children in Accra, Ghana. It was an invigorating celebration of the coming of Jesus, as we corporately lift up these kids and pray for them to experience the joy of knowing Jesus! Please join us in this endeavor as we pray and correspond with these 332 children for the next four years!

WHY GHANA?

Since our planting in 2016, we have been partnered with Redeemer City to City (CTC), a non-profit organization that prayerfully recruits, trains, coaches, and resources leaders who cultivate gospel movements in global cities primarily through church planting. It was through our partnership with CTC that Seven Mile Road began investing in church planters in Western Africa, where Ghana is located. Since then, we have formed a beautiful relationship with a church in Accra, Ghana where we have seen disciples made and the gospel advanced through the local church. We love this country and we are privileged to partner with our Ghanian brothers and sisters to bring the light of Jesus to dark places in our world.

Why Compassion?

Compassion International is a child-development ministry dedicated to releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name. Through sponsorships and donations, Compassion empowers local churches to provide individualized and holistic care to children in poverty so they are free to learn, grow, play and dream. We long to see children that can thrive and experience the love of Christ, all in partnership with the local church. Because of that, we are excited to partner with an organization that boldly pushes back darkness and allows children to know their worth and dignity, all in Jesus’ name.
