Peter J. Williams
Peter J. Williams has been leading Tyndale House, an international Bible research community in Cambridge, England, since 2007. He received his MA, MPhil, and PhD from the University of Cambridge, studying ancient languages related to the Bible and was formerly a Senior Lecturer in New Testament at the University of Aberdeen.
He is an Affiliated Lecturer at the University of Cambridge and a member of the Translation Oversight Committee of the English Standard Version. His book Can We Trust the Gospels? (Crossway, 2018) has been published in 15 languages. His latest book is The Surprising Genius of Jesus (Crossway, 2023). What is Tyndale House?

Tyndale House is a world-renowned center for biblical research. We have been pursuing excellence in biblical scholarship since 1944, and at our heart is a community of researchers who study the Bible at the highest level and collaborate on projects to deepen Bible knowledge.

Our vision is a world that takes the Bible seriously, and we do this through producing and distributing resources such as:

• Social media: We are present on social media and, through our selected channels, aim to showcase life at Tyndale House whilst equipping the church-going and non-church-going public with a growing knowledge of the context of the Bible. • Events and Conferences: Academic team members, such as Peter Williams, give popular-level talks at churches and conferences. On Saturday 18th October 2025, Tyndale House is bringing The World of The Bible Conference to C3 church in Cambridge. This will be a day of teaching from Tyndale House with expert Bible researchers teasing out some threads that run through the Bible.
