MELISSA MERTA
MINISTRY Coordinator
Melissa is a wife, corgi-mom, and proud aunt. She is passionate about the power of stories, capturing moments in both words and photos. Additionally, she has a heart for students and is dedicated to equipping them to be and become their best selves.
Born in northern California, Melissa’s family moved to Military City, San Antonio, where she met her now-husband, Matt. She attended Texas A&M University to pursue her Bachelor’s in Telecommunication and discovered her passion for students while volunteering as a youth sponsor. Later, Melissa was hired to lead the high school girls’ youth ministry and college and young adults programs. After four years of working full-time in youth ministry, Melissa felt called to work in the school systems and spent the next six years working in Title I high schools as both a teacher and administrator.
Melissa joins the Seven Mile Road staff excited to utilize her gifts of communication and organization. She looks forward to partnering with our team as we dream of our future youth ministry and investing in the lives of young women in our community. Melissa can be found walking their corgi, Penny, trying out a new coffee shop with Matt, or reading a good book.
