kate riley, director of kids ministry

Kate Riley is a wife, mother, and ice cream enthusiast who loves the challenge of a good puzzle.  Born and raised in the great state of  Tennessee, Kate loves all things outdoors and cheering on the Tennessee volunteers.

She graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and moved to Texas one month later.  Knowing very few people in the city, Kate sought a strong Christian community, which is where she met the Morris family and her husband, Drew.

The last few years, Kate spent the majority of her time as a teacher and administrator with the Houston Independent School district, before taking a step back to spend time with her daughter, Lily, who was born in August 2016.  Her passion for working with kids and her desire to help others experience the love of Christ made the decision to join the Seven Mile Road team a very easy one.  She sees the opportunity to help build solid faith foundations for our youngest members a true blessing.

Kate longs to live a life fully situated at the feet of Jesus and knows that this will be a never-ending pursuit.  She is thankful for the community that God has placed around her and the way she is continually challenged by what it means to be a follower of Christ.  When Lily isn’t running her schedule, Kate spends her spare time eating Mexican food with Drew, playing with her fur babies, Eugene and Lupe, and escaping to the mountains and cooler weather.
